Marcus Jordan, the son of former NBA star Michael Jordan, was arrested for drug possession, driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
Authorities say that this occurred after he was allegedly out drinking at a Florida strip club and then got his car stuck on railroad tracks early on Feb. 4.
Maitland, Florida, police officers came across a blue Lamborghini stuck in railroad tracks near Greenwood Drive and Mechanic Street at about 1:14 a.m., an affidavit backing Marcus’ arrest disclosed.
According to the court document, the officers were told that the car had fled from Seminole County Sheriff’s deputies minutes earlier.
“I stood at the window and immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle,” an arresting officer stated in the affidavit. “The defendant kept saying he made a wrong turn and needed assistance getting his vehicle off the railroad tracks. I noticed the driver had slurred speech and he was confused where he was located. I noticed the driver had red bloodshot and glassy eyes.”
The affidavit also noted that the former college basketball player told police he was drinking and “coming from a few venues in Winter Park and Casselberry to include the last place he visited of Rachels Gentleman’s Club.”
The officers discovered a “plastic baggie with a white powdery substance inside” the “right pocket of his pants,” before field tests revealed that it was cocaine, officials noted.
Officials said that Marcus was not cooperative during the arrest and attempted to extend his legs in the back of the squad car to prevent the officers from closing the door.
According to police records, Marcus was booked into the Orange County Jail in Orlando, Florida on suspicion for drug possession, DUI and resisting arrest.
Police drove the Defendant to the Orange County DUI Center. On the way there, one officer’s car started smelling “like an alcoholic beverage in which it did not smell that way prior to the defendant being in the vehicle,” the affidavit mentions.
“The Defendant was singing the entire way to the DUI Center and his speech was slurred,” the document stated.
Jordan was still be in custody by late Tuesday morning, jail records revealed.
It was not made clear right away if he hired or was assigned a criminal defense lawyer to speak on his behalf.
In February 2024, Marcus and girlfriend Larsa Pippen unfollowed each other on Instagram, which led fans to speculate that their relationship may have ended.
After breaking up later that year, Pippen spoke up about the photos that had been spreading of her ex-boyfriend holding what seemed to be white powder, indicating that it was sugar and not cocaine.
