Michael Jordan Defeats No. 2 NBA Draft Pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Michael Jordan took down Charlotte Bobcat Michael Kidd-Gilchrist in a game of one-on-one, proving he’s still got it ten years into retirement.

Jordan, 49, faced off against Kidd-Gilchrist, 19, before the Rising Stars Challenge rookie-sophomore game Friday night and came away victorious. Some suspect the younger ball player may have let the legend, who owns the majority of his team, get the win after initially claiming he didn’t expect to lose. “No,” he told CSN Houston. “No. I didn’t allow him to beat me. Because that my boss? Nah.”

Born in 1993, Kidd-Gilchrist never had the pleasure of watching the basketball great in action during his prime, but he knows the kind of player he was – and apparently still is. “He still has it. He does,” said Kidd-Gilchrist. And he must, if he was able to win against the rookie who is just now nearing 20 and comes in at 6-7, 232 lbs.

"It was hard for me," Kidd-Gilchrist admitted to USA Today. "I lost. He's the greatest man that ever played the game.” Although the loss to Jordan, who turns 50 on Sunday, could not have done much for the rookie’s ego, Kidd-Gilchrist is honored just to be in the position to score a one-on-one game with the face of the Air Jordans he’d stand forever in line for as a kid.
