Michael Irvin To Return To NFL Network After Settling $100 Million Defamation Lawsuit Against Marriott
NFL Hall-of-Famer Michael Irvin will return to the NFL Network on Sunday following a February suspension that involved a hotel employee’s complaint.
Marriott has settled a $100 million defamation lawsuit with Irvin.
Irvin filed the lawsuit against Mariott and six others for defamation and tortious interference in a business relationship after a female employee accused the former wide receiver of inappropriate comments in an Arizona hotel lobby during Super Bowl weekend. Irvin has denied the allegations against him. Marriott stated that Irvin flagged down the female hotel employee while appearing visibly intoxicated. The company reported the incident to the NFL, leading to Irvin’s suspension.
Video evidence in March showed surveillance video from the hotel where Irvin was seen shaking hands with the women before leaving during the two-minute encounter.
