Michael Douglas’s son, Cameron Douglas, pleaded guilty to dealing large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine Wednesday in a Manhattan federal courtroom. The 31-year-old was busted last July at Manhattan’s trendy Hotel Gansevoort where he had a large quantity of the crystal meth and over $10,000 in cash. The arrest was made after he mailed 215 grams of meth to a post office box that was addressed to a government informant. One government informant used to work for Douglas.

Initially, Douglas was put under house arrest. However, after his girlfriend tried to sneak some heroin that was hidden in an electric toothbrush, he was put behind bars. When asked by the judge if he knew that what he did was wrong, the younger Douglas responded: “Yes, your honor.”

Douglas will be sentenced on April 27 and faces a minimum of 10 years in prison. His father blames himself for his son’s wrongdoing because he was pursuing acting when Cameron was growing up. “Cameron has a lot of life ahead. He now recognizes his own demons and struggles," Michael said. “He’s in a federal prison, and you’ve got some big, bad boys down there.” –NATASHA ALLOWAY
