Michael Douglas is optimistic about his chances for recovery. The Wall Street 2 actor, who has been fighting throat cancer since August, has completed treatment and is looking ahead.

"I feel stronger every day," Douglas, 66, told People. "But it's a long road back." Douglas has accepted the title part in director Steven Soderbergh's Liberace, which will begin shooting in May or June, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Douglas will find out this January if his cancer has gone into remission. Doctors have told him there is an 80 percent chance of full recovery.

Luckily for Douglas, he's had his family to lean on. "These things can either tear families apart or make them stronger. This has definitely made them even stronger," he said. "It showed me a love that I never knew really existed." –AMY LEE
