Michael Douglas is nearing the end of his 8-week treatment for throat cancer. The intense regimen, which consisted of chemotherapy and radiation, is only one more week from completion.
"No further treatments are scheduled," said friend Allen Burry, according to People. Douglas, 66, will have six more weeks of recovery, with periodic check-ups to follow afterwards. "He’s really happy about it ending," Burry said. Though the treatment can be detrimental to the recipient's ability to swallow, Douglas "was determined not to have a feeding tube, and he didn't have to have one," Burry said.
