Michael Cavallari, Kristin Cavallari’s Older Brother, Found Dead

Kristin Cavallari‘s older brother Michael Cavallari, who has been missing since late November, was found dead.

Kristin released a statement Thursday confirming that Michael’s body had been found.

“We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time. We have just been informed by the authorities my brother’s body has been found,” Kristin said in a statement to People. “This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving.”

Kristin also took to Instagram to share her grief, captioning a picture of the two as toddlers, “My heart is in a million pieces. Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I’m at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP.”

Michael’s car had been found abandoned near Arches National Park in Utah on Nov. 27, leading the local police to begin a search for him. When the vehicle was discovered, the car was still running with Michael’s cell phone and laptop found in the car. The airbag had also been deployed. After his disappearance had been reported, Kristin took to Instagram, captioning a childhood picture of herself with Michael, “I appreciate all the concern, thoughts, and prayers that have been extended to me and my family. We remain hopeful and I will share any news that we receive. I have such gratitude for all those that have shared their support.”

Kristin is best known for starring on MTV reality TV shows Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and The Hills. She is married to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, with whom she has three children.
