Michael Bolton took to Facebook to reveal a new health scare.
Bolton said he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and will be taking a step back to prioritize his physical health.
“Just before the holidays, it was discovered that I had a brain tumor, which required immediate surgery. Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success,” Bolton explained. “I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family.”
Bolton confirmed he would be taking the next couple of months off, requiring him to take a break from touring.
According to the American Brain Tumor Association, brain tumors affect about 1.3 million Americans. A tumor can damage multiple bodily systems and cognitive abilities. About 90,000 people a year are diagnosed with a brain tumor.
Bolton achieved his biggest success in music during the 80s and 90s. He has released two albums in 2023, Spark of Light and Christmas Time.
