Michael B. Jordan plays pushy State Farm agent on SNL (Image: NBC)
While making his hosting debut on last week’s Saturday Night Live, Michael B. Jordan, 35, reminded everyone in his monologue that he is now single. He refrained from mentioning his ex Lori Harvey explicitly, but he admitted that he went through a public breakup.
The couple split in June 2022 after more than a year of dating.
“Most people after a breakup are like, ‘I’m going to get in better shape.’ But I was already in Creed shape!” the actor said, referring to the upcoming boxing film, Creed III, that he both directed and starred in.
The actor said he instead sorted through his feelings by learning a new language, and later told the audience in Spanish that he’s on Raya, a celebrity dating app.
SNL cast members Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Punkie Johnson and Ego Nwodim notified Jordan that they were definitely interested.
Fineman asked Jordan, “Could you remind me how to spell your number?” while Gardner claimed that she has a Creed poster on her wall and printed out a body pillow of him.
Nwodim showed up in a bridal gown, saying “I didn’t even know you were out here. I was taking a walk around the studio and I just threw this on. Oh my God, is this my wedding dress?”
Johnson came last, confirming that she was gay but noting, “But you’re Michael B. Jordan, and I’m Punkie B. Curious.”
During the show, Jordan played a Southwest agent in a sketch that made fun of the airline after their debacle during the holiday season.
He also portrayed Jake from State Farm and later appeared alongside Bowen Yang to act out sound effects in action-fighting video games.
Lil Baby, 28, also made his SNL debut, performing “California Breeze” and “Forever” off his 2022 album It’s Only Me.
