Nate Estimada, one of the stars on E! reality series Men of the Strip, died earlier this week. He was 25.
Estimada’s death was a suicide attempt, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ. He allegedly drove his Mustang off a cliff in the middle of the day on Wednesday near the City of Industry in Los Angeles, Calif. In his Mustang, Estimada plummeted roughly 40 ft. into a landfill.
Authorities have apparently already found that the wreck was intentional. Toxicology results are pending.
Estimada was a member of 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons’ male revue show. Upon learning of his death, Timmons posted a tribute on Instagram.
“I am heartbroken at the passing of my brother Nate Estimada,” Timmons wrote. “Nate was a gift to all of us, and will be missed not only personally as a friend, but as a member of Men of the Strip. My love, prayers and thoughts go out to his family, friends and loved ones. He will be missed dearly, and we will keep him in our hearts forever.”
In an interview with Uinterview last year, Timmons spoke about starting the Men of the Strip brand with Glenn Douglas Packard and Money Mike, who were trying to “create something new, younger, cooler, more pop culture,” than Chippendales. In a statement, Men of the Strip's management and cast expressed their sorrow about Estimada’s untimely passing.
“We are heartbroken at the loss of our brother and friend and send our deepest condolences to his family, loved ones, friends and fans,” the statement read on the Men of the Strip Facebook page. “Our thoughts and prayers are with them all at this time.”
