The former member of Dream, Melissa Schuman, 33, filed a sexual assault report against former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, 38, on Wednesday.

Schuman tweeted on February 7 that she would file a report. “I’m finally doing what I thought I could no longer do. Im filing a police report #timesup ✊🏻 #bebrave #bethechange #metoo thank you @RAINN for empowering me to take this step.”

Schuman gave a detailed description of the alleged incident on her blog, claiming that Carter raped her when she was 18. An investigation is now being conducted by the Santa Monica Police.

In her blog, she tells about all about the alleged incident stating that she was vocal about not wanting to continue with sexual acts. “ …he took my hand and brought me into the bathroom adjacent to his office. He shut the door and we continued to kiss. I asked him what we were doing in there. He didn’t respond and continued to kiss me. He then pick me up, put me on the counter and started to unbutton my pants. I told him I didn’t want to go any further. He didn’t listen. He didn’t care. ”

Even before filing a sexual assault report against Carter the former singer took to Twitter to voice her views.

Carter has claimed everything was consensual between them and is shocked by the accusations. “I am shocked and saddened by Ms. Schuman’s accusations. Melissa never expressed to me while we were together or at any time since that anything we did was not consensual. We went on to record a song and perform together, and I was always respectful and supportive of Melissa both personally and professionally. This is the first that I am hearing about these accusations, nearly two decades later. It is contrary to my nature and everything I hold dear to intentionally cause someone discomfort or harm,” Carter told People.
