Melissa Benoist filmed scenes for the forthcoming CBS Supergirl series Monday afternoon in Los Angeles.

Benoist, best known for playing Marley Rose on Glee, was outfitted for the day on set in a preppy look that featured a collared shirt under a sweater, a red-orange pencil skirt and oxfords. From the looks of her attire – and the coffee and newspapers under her arm – her day job may be as some sort of office assistant.

Last week, the first image of Benoist in her crime-fighting Supergirl costume was released. Sharing the picture on Twitter, the Whiplash actress wrote, “THIS. I still can’t believe I am wearing the House of El coat of arms.”

Supergirl will follow Superman’s cousin Kara Zor-El, who’d managed to flee Krypton during its destruction and has been raised by foster family the Danvers. Though she had been taught to reign in her superpowers, she’s left with no choice but to expose them to the public when a disaster strikes.

Supergirl, which has already received a full season order from The CW, also stars Mechad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow ‘Winn’ Scott, Calista Flockhart as Kara’s boss Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Kara’s foster sister Alex and Laura Benanti as Kara’s birth mother, Alura Zor-El.

Supergirl is expected to premiere sometime during the fall.
