Melania Trump Won’t Let Her Son, Barron, Live In NYU Dorm For His Freshman Year

Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, reportedly does not allow her son Barron, 18, to live in the housing dorms at New York University, where he is in his freshmen year.

To keep a close watch over her son, Melania has required Barron to live in the family’s Midtown Manhattan residence in Trump Tower.

Melania and Barron have long seemed uncomfortably close, with displays of a private relationship so intimate the public has taken notice. Melania has been said to exemplify the negative female archetype known as a “boy mom,” which describes a woman who is emotionally intimate with her son(s) at the expense of other people, particularly women.

“[Melania] will do everything she can to make sure Barron does well in school and is socially and mentally adjusted to his life as a college student,” a political source close to the family explained to People. “Living in a dorm in a college town isn’t in the stars for him at this point.”

Melania and the president will likely buy Barron his own apartment in a year or so.

Interestingly, another motivation behind Melania’s supervision, a source noted, “Barron already has his political ideas. It all needs to be monitored in light of the situation.” Barron is “popular with the ladies” and “even liberal people like him.”

Although the Trump family has long been a notable conservative presence in Manhattan, Barron’s decision to attend NYU – an institution known for its progressive students – seems like an odd choice. Many internet users have speculated that Barron wanted to plant himself in the liberal environment to help boost his father’s appeal to Democratic voters.
