First Lady Melania Trump reportedly told husband President Donald Trump that Christey Blasey Ford was “lying.”
A book by Mollie Hemingway, a senior editor at The Federalist, and Carrie Severino, chief counsel and policy director of the Judicial Crisis Network, used the first lady as an example of an under-reported storyline in the news media.
“You know that woman is lying, don’t you?” Melania told Trump, according to Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court.

The book also mentioned that “millions of other women and men” didn’t believe Ford.
Ford gave a testimony amid Brett Kavanaugh‘s Senate confirmation hearings about a sexual assault, that she says, she suffered at the hands of Kavanaugh, when they were teenagers. The Senate confirmed Kavanaugh to the bench.
“Her credibility, if anything, was viewed as stronger because of her lapses in memory and because the odder parts to the story,” wrote the authors. “Such as her description of how she came to tell her husband about the assault. Despite the holes in her story, the media clung to these details.”
According to the book, that was released on Tuesday, Melania didn’t buy anything Ford said.
Justice on Trial is a behind-the-scenes look of the Kavanaugh hearings of September and October 2018. The hearing took the country by storm and even had other alleged victims speak up about their experiences with Kavanaugh.
An excerpt of the book was published in The Post Sunday, which detailed how Republican Sen. Susan Collins was treated. Her husband was threatened with ricin in a letter addressed to their Maine home.
Collins’ neighbor said he was troubled that he was living next door to a “rape apologist,” as the Maine Republican tried to apologize for noisy protesters.
