First Lady Melania Trump will host a film screening as part of National Bullying Prevention Month.
According to The Hill, Trump will show Wonder at the White House for a group of sixth-graders on Tuesday. The 2017 film follows the experiences of a young boy with facial disfigurations who is confronted by bullies at school.
“The movie celebrates October’s National Bullying Prevention Month by highlighting the importance of choosing kindness — a core belief of Mrs. Trump’s Be Best campaign,” the first lady’s office said in a statement announcing the event.
Trump has continued to be scolded for her bully prevention work because of her husband’s outbursts. Recently, President Donald Trump called out alleged lover Stormy Daniels as “horseface” in a tweet to his 55 million followers.
At a campaign rally this month, he also celebrated the body-slamming of a reporter by GOP Montana Rep. Greg Gianforte and lashed out at Sen. Elizabeth Warren, calling her “Pocahontas” yet again.
Earlier this month, Trump claimed that she is “one of the most bullied people on the earth,” which sparked a lot of criticism. After announcing the screening of Wonder, she has also taken a lot of heat, some even telling her to talk to her husband about bullying.
