Melania Trump Says Husband Donald Trump’s Alleged Affairs Are ‘Not Concern And Focus Of Mine’

Melania Trump says she is not letting President Donald Trump‘s alleged extramarital affairs distract her from her main goals as first lady.

“It is not a concern and focus of mine,” Melania told ABC News in a sit-down interview earlier this month while she was traveling to Africa. I’m a mother and a first lady, and I have much more important things to think about and to do. I know people like to speculate and media like to speculate about our marriage.”

When asked if she had felt hurt after the accusations against her husband first arose, the first lady said: “It’s not always pleasant, of course, but I know what is right and what is wrong and what is true or not true.”

Trump is alleged to have had sexual encounters with dozens of women and forced their silence with hush money payments. His longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen pled guilty in August to campaign finance violations related to these disbursements, which he implicated Trump in. The president and one of his former mistresses, porn star Stormy Danielsbecame engrossed in a Twitter feud this week after a federal judge dismissed a defamation lawsuit she brought against him.

Melania Trump drew much criticism for a hat she wore to Africa that people said was reminiscent of the colonialism era of the continent, and was further ridiculed after she said she felt like “the most bullied person in the world.”

The first lady has pushed a campaign called “Be Best” that focuses on bullying, especially cyberbullying, since entering the White House. Melania was also slammed for being a “racist birther” alongside her husband in 2011, when Donald Trump started demanding to see then-President Barack Obama‘s birth certificate to prove he was a U.S. Citizen.

All this, along with a racy new music video released by rapper T.I. that features a Melania look-alike, has brought the first lady to the forefront of many news stories in recent days.

Melania was also asked by ABC why she believes her husband’s attorney Rudy Giuliani spoke for her earlier this year, when he said of the first lady, referring to her husband’s alleged infidelities: “She believes her husband, and she knows it’s untrue.”

“I don’t know [why Giuliani said that],” the first lady said of that remark. “You need to ask him.”
