Melania Trump tweeted for the first time since Nov. 8, 2016, and this time it was from the @FLOTUS twitter page.
Michelle Obama had been in control of the @FLOTUS account since Barack Obama was elected, and has now turned it over to Melania, now that Donald Trump has been sworn in.
The tweet read simply, “I am deeply honored to serve this wonderful country as First Lady!” It accompanied a picture of herself holding the bible on which Donald laid his left hand when he took the presidential oath.
Unlike her husband, Melania has not been a very active Twitter user. Her former account, @MELANIATRUMP, was created in 2010, and had tweeted out 1,179 times. Prior to the 2016 presidential election and campaigns, her Twitter account mostly consisted of photographs of her day, with short captions and hashtags.
Since the beginning of the elections, it seems someone has been writing tweets on her behalf, and was mainly posting in favor of her husband for president. Time will tell how the @FLOTUS account will be maintained.
