Melania Trump Is The Only Person Donald Trump Fears, Senior Aide Kellyanne Conway Testifies

Kellyanne Conway admitted that the only person Donald Trump fears is his wife, Melania Trump.

In a transcript from the House investigation of the January 6 capitol riot, Conway told the committee that she tried reaching out to Melania during the riots to get through to the former president. The panel has been attempting to showcase how Trump refused to take action against the riots.

“I texted her, please – something to the effect of, you know, please talk to him, because I know he listens to her,” Conway said. “He reserves – he listens to many of us, but he reserves fear for one person, Melania Trump.”

Conway, who helped Trump get elected in 2016, said she didn’t speak to him during the riot and that his wife didn’t respond immediately. She testified that Melania “didn’t have her phone” at the time.

“She didn’t know what was going on,” she continued. “And I’m offended that nobody ran in there to tell the First Lady of the United States that, I mean, she and her teenage son may be, I don’t know, at risk.”

Melania has claimed she was doing an archival photo shoot of the East Wing’s décor when the riot broke out. Melania has previously said she was unaware of what was going on at the Capitol. The former First Lady was slammed on social media for taking almost a week to condemn the riots.

Shortly after the riots, Conway appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher and called the violence, which left five dead, “horrible” and “inexcusable.” She said the president should have “spoken with people earlier to get them the hell out of there,” but defended Trump and his supporters.

“The Trump people are constantly mocked and they felt like they had in Donald Trump someone who was giving them more voice and visibility,” she told Maher. “If you can match that with policy gains… with deregulation and taxes lowered for the people where it matters… I think his legacy on the policy stuff will survive.”
