Melania Trump Blocked Ivanka Trump From Using White House Resources, New Book Reveals

In a new biography by Pulitzer Prize winning Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan, the ongoing feud between Melania Trump and Ivanka Trump is revealed. The book, titled The Art of Her Deal, is set to come out on Tuesday and will explain how Melania stopped Ivanka from renaming the “First Lady’s Office” to the “First Family’s Office” and how Melania enforced “firm boundaries” with her stepdaughter. The biography will also divulge Melania’s life and education previous to meeting her husband President Donald Trump.

Jordan, who based the book of off over 100 interviews, wrote that Melania had stayed in the Trump Tower penthouse with her son Barron and used her move into the White House as leverage to renegotiate her prenuptial agreement with the president. As this was happening, Ivanka had been named a presidential adviser. Jordan said, “staff positions and budgets that would have been available to support the first lady’s office” were “diverted to support those in the West Wing, including Ivanka.”

Jordan added that “[Ivanka] treated the private residence as if it were her own home. Melania did not like it. When she and Barron finally moved in, she put an end to the ‘revolving door.'”

Jordan named Melania as the president’s “single most influential adviser.” The first communications director Sean Spicer told Jordan in an interview, “Melania is very behind-the-scenes but unbelievably influential. She is not one to go in and say, ‘Hire this person, fire this person.’ But she lets the president know what she thinks, and he takes her views very seriously.”

Although The Art of Her Deal is set to come out on Tuesday, the announcement was made last week. Spokeswoman for Melania and head of staff Stephanie Grisham said to People, “Yet another book about Mrs. Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre.”
