Melania Trump and Ivana Trump are feuding over a brief comment Ivana made in an interview on Monday.
The back and forth has turned the White House into even more of a reality show than it has already become. On Good Morning America, Ivana stated, “I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there. I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife. I’m first lady, ok?” she added, laughing.
Melania did not take the words kindly. A spokeswoman for the actual First Lady gave a statement on behalf of Melania. “Mrs. Trump has made the White House a home for Barron and the President. She loves living in Washington, D.C., and is honored by her role as First Lady of the United States,” said Stephanie Grisham. “She plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex, this is unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise.”
Ivana is currently promoting her memoir Raising Trump, in which she talks about her relationship with Donald Trump, his affair with Marla Maples, and raising their three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. The couple divorced in 1993 and Trump wed Melania in 2005.
In a Fox & Friends interview on Tuesday morning, Ivana attempted to put out the flames of the first lady feud. “I see her here and there,” said Ivana. “There’s absolutely no problem.” She even tried to commiserate with Melania, saying, “I think for her to be in Washington must be terrible. It’s better her than me. I would hate Washington.”
