Melania Trump and former president Donald Trump spread the Christmas cheer at an event with foster care families in Palm Beach, Florida on Sunday.
In line with Melania’s “Fostering the Future” initiatives, the Trumps invited almost 100 children from foster homes to celebrate Christmas traditions together at the Trump International Golf Club. Kids of all ages gathered to meet Santa Claus, listen to holiday-themed story times, make gingerbread cookies and paint ornaments.

The former First Lady started “Fostering the Future” as part of her “Be Best” initiative with the goal of advancing opportunities for children in the foster care system. Part of the initiative has been funding scholarships for foster children.
“Since leaving the White House and returning to the private sector, my resolve to promote the well-being of children and strengthen the foster care community has not wavered,” Melania told Fox News Digital. “I’m pleased that two young adults received full college scholarships and started school this semester because of ‘Fostering the Future,’ and I look forward to all they accomplish.”
Kids who attended the celebration received books as Christmas presents, as gifted by Todd Zimmerman, author of the children’s book series Oliver the Ornament, which he says has a “message of kindness.”
Also at the event were foster parents and community leaders from local organizations including the YMCA and the American Association of Caregiving Youth.
“This year’s Christmas season should inspire hope and compassion for all,” Melania said. “I wish that as the holiday and new year approach, people in our wonderful country and around the world will be blessed with security, peace and love, as well as a dedication to helping one another and giving back.”
