Mel Gibson never fails to speak his mind, but this time he’s taking aim at a surprising target – the President. “[Obama] is a man with an impossible task on his hands. He got left a mess, and I wish him all the best but I don’t think he’s going to fix it in five minutes and probably not in his entire tenure,” Gibson, whose first movie in 8 years, Edge of Darkness, premieres this weekend, told the website Pop Tarts on Wednesday night.
It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, considering Gibson’s past. He’s ranted a few times over the years, most famously anti-Semitic remarks to police officer several years back. The actor, who is a fundamentalist Christian, is known for his strong conservative political beliefs. –NATASHA ALLOWAY
