Mel Gibson Calls Biden ‘A Marxist’ & Praises Return Of Trump At Conservative Event

On Tuesday, conservative Catholic director and actor Mel Gibson declared to the audience at an event for America’s Future, a conspirational conservative nonprofit, “I got nine kids. If one of them got stolen or trafficked, I’d have to kill someone.”

Gibson also labeled Joe Biden‘s term as “four years of thinly veiled Marxism” and expressed his excitement for the “four-year grace period” that would come with Trump’s election. He declared, “We’ll see how much this administration can claw back from the Philistines.”

Many of the comments at the event appeared to reference the QAnon conspiracy theory.

QAnon, a decentralized, far-right political movement,  is based on the unfounded conspiracy theory that the world is controlled by a satanic pedophilic government system that can only be defeated by Trump. Often described as a cult, the movement got its legs in 2017 when an anonymous poster, known as Q, began to spout theories of such. Since then, QAnon supporters have been known to provoke violent demonstrations and are heavy propagators of the false belief that the 2020 election was stolen.

Fox media personality Tucker Carlson once described the cult members as “gently people waving American flags.”

Appointed in 2021, Chairman of America’s Future, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, transformed what was once a run-of-the-mill conservative nonprofit into a more radical organization. In a video shared to social media, Flynn’s sister, Mary O’Neill – who was appointed executive director following Flynn’s own appointment – spouted baseless claims about the cannibalistic child traffickers working against Trump.

“They have organ-harvesting… they have also found a way to take the blood, and use the blood, to make themselves youthful,” she said.

In addition to Gibson – who arrived at the event in crocs, shorts and a polo – Kid Rock and Carlson accompanied Trump to give a statement to the audience. Flynn gave “Champion for Freedom” awards to Carlson and Kid Rock.

Throughout his career, Gibson has been accused of making antisemitic and anti-gay comments.
