Megyn Kelly Criticizes Hillary Clinton’s Cover Photo Retouching And Debate Advice

In a recent episode of her SiriusXM podcast The Megyn Kelly Show, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly took aim at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton‘s appearance on the cover of her new book, as well as her advice to President Joe Biden on how to debate former President Donald Trump.

Kelly mocked the “amount of retouching” on Clinton’s cover photo, and stated that she “hasn’t seen that much retouching since Joan Rivers had her 15th surgery.” She went on to say that Clinton “looks nothing like herself” and questioned the “soft focus” that the former First Lady had tried to achieve with the image.

Furthermore, Kelly criticized Clinton’s New York Times guest column in which she advised Biden on how to approach the presidential debate against Trump.

In the op-ed, Clinton wrote that Trump “starts with nonsense and then digresses into blather” and that he “interrupts and bullies because he wants to appear dominant and throw his opponent off balance.”

However, Kelly dismissed these observations as “just insults,” and argued that what Trump actually did was “raise issues that really mattered to working class and middle America, whom she totally ignored.” She quipped, “Why aren’t you the president if you’re so smart about how to debate Trump? Asking for a friend.”

Kelly praised Trump’s approach, and stated, “Actually what he [Trump] did was he got out there and said you’d be in jail if he were in charge, and people loved the challenge of power of somebody who’d been considered untouchable.” Kelly went on to commend Trump for “raising issues that really mattered to working class and middle America, whom [Clinton] totally ignored.”

The analysis of Clinton‘s cover photo and debate advice highlights the heightened scrutiny that women face in politics, the media, and the representation of personal image. Nevertheless, she persists.
