Meghan Trainor Pulls ‘Me Too’ Music Video After Editors Photoshop Her Waist

Meghan Trainor pulled her music video for new track “Me Too” after realizing that editors had photoshopped her waist to make it appear smaller.

Trainor had been hyping the release of the music video on Instagram ahead of its release. When it did come out, she saw screengrabs from it that clearly indicated that her figure had been altered. While Trainor first thought it was the handy work of fans, she soon learned that it was the video itself that was to blame.

“I saw fans posting it and was like, ‘Why are fans ruining my waist? Are you kidding?’” Trainor told USA Today. “Then I went to the video and was like, ‘Oh my god.’ I texted the editors like, ‘I never asked you to touch my waist. I want my waist back.’”

Trainor admitted that the latest photoshopping of a picture of her was likely the worst instance yet, and that she felt compelled to immediately address it on Snapchat.

“I screamed in my hotel room. I was like, ‘Why would they do this?’ I cried. I had to try not to cry because I had my (makeup) done, and was like, ‘Don’t ruin this. Go work and ignore it,’ but I couldn’t help it,” Trainor said. “I (posted a video) on Snapchat and was like, ‘Hey, took down my video because people are still breaking me and Photoshopping me and I’m sick of it. I’m over it. I’m so done.’ “

Trainor added of the editors, “Why would they ever be like, ‘Let’s break her ribs!’ It’s insulting, it’s rude. Especially because I’m the only artist who talks about it.”

The unaltered version of the “Me Too” music video was up by Tuesday afternoon. “The real #metoo video is finally up!” Trainor announced. “Missed that bass. Thank you everyone for the support.”
