Meghan Markle’s Wedding Dress Budgeted At Over $546,000

Meghan Markle’s wedding dress reportedly will cost more than $546,000.

Markle is set to wed Prince Harry on May 19 in what is expected to be the wedding of the year.

The budget has doubled and a big proportion went to paying for Markle’s gown. A source told Look, “The wedding dress has been the biggest expense, and the budget has now doubled from what it originally was.”

It is still unknown who has the honor of designing the wedding dress. According to the Daily Mail, an Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton dress is the frontrunner as Markle’s choice. Other’s that have designed for royal weddings are Ralph and Russo, Erdem and Roland Mouret. According to Women’s Wear Daily, when asked if he would be designing Markle’s wedding dress, Mouret said, “Mmmmm, I don’t want to say. No comment.”

Previously in an interview with Glamour in 2016, Markle said she would, “personally prefer wedding dresses that are whimsical or subtly romantic.”

As a wedding gift to her future husband, the former Suits star is paying for the honeymoon, which reportedly cost more than $156,000.
