Meghan Markle’s Sister Samantha Hospitalized After Paparazzi Run-In

Samantha Markle, Meghan Markle‘s half-sister, has been hospitalized with a possible broken ankle and fractured knee. The injuries were caused by a car accident yesterday that was the result of a confrontation with paparazzi in Ocala, Florida.

Markle’s boyfriend Mark told TMZ that they were driving near a toll booth when a photographer veered in front of them to get a clear picture. They swerved to the left to avoid him, but they ended up hitting a concrete barrier, causing Samantha to hit the windshield and fall to the floor mat, with her foot twisted backward.

This is not the only Markle who has had to make a recent hospital visit. Samantha and Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, suffered a heart attack last week and was then back in the hospital for open heart surgery this week, which concluded just hours before Samantha arrived in the emergency room.

Samantha had been in the news earlier this week when she revealed that she was the one who came up with the idea for her father’s staged paparazzi photos. In the wake of that scandal, it was announced that Thomas would not be attending the royal wedding, despite earlier plans for him to walk Meghan down the aisle. Neither Samantha nor her brother, Thomas Markle, Jr., had been invited, as Meghan does not have much of a relationship with either of her half-siblings.
