Former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown slammed Meghan Markle for “having the worst judgment,” as well as Prince Harry for being “naive.”
In an episode of The Ankler podcast, Brown said, “In England, they’re going to constantly make a career out of trashing Harry. But actually, the thing about Harry is he’s very good at being Prince Harry… That’s the tragedy of all of this, is that he is the most talented member of the royal family, without doubt, in terms of being a prince, which is all he does know how to do… he’s really sort of flawless at it.”
Brown’s assessment of Harry’s wife was not as positive: “The trouble with Meghan is that she has the worst judgment of anyone in the entire world…She’s flawless about getting it all wrong…She really is.”
Brown continued, “She’s a perfectionist about getting it all wrong…Her issue is that she doesn’t listen… She has all these people, asks them their opinion, and then doesn’t follow it. She does what she wants to do. And all of her ideas are total c—, unfortunately.”
Despite her praise for Prince Harry, Brown noted, “He’s so naïve and really unschooled in the ways of the world. Being Prince Harry means that I doubt if he ever booked a table in a restaurant.” Brown claimed that since Harry married Markle, “he’s the lamb to the slaughter in this situation.”
Former editor of both Vanity Fair and the New Yorker, Brown is the best-selling author of royal biographies, The Diana Chronicles and The Palace Papers, and is known to have had a personal relationship with Princess Diana, and the two had lunch just weeks before Diana’s tragic death.
Markle and Harry seem to have struggled to adapt to life in California after they moved and resigned from their roles in the royal monarchy in 2020. Although the couple’s Netflix doc-series had strong ratings, Markle’s next project was quickly dropped. Markle’s podcast Archetypes aired in 2022 was not renewed for a second season.
Markle recently claimed that she is “one of the most bullied people in the world.”
