Meghan Markle Celebrates Archie's First Birthday With Fundraising Video For Kids Impacted By Coronavirus
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and wife Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, celebrated their son’s first birthday on May 6 while social distancing. Markle read the children’s book Duck! Rabbit! to her son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who was sitting in her lap in a video shot at their home in Los Angeles.
The video was in support of the Save With Stories Instagram campaign in the United States and the Save Children U.K. campaign which both support children who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
For the celebration, Markle made a homemade birthday cake as Prince Harry took on the decorations. The family’s two dogs participated in the birthday celebration.
The Save With Stories campaign featured the birthday video that was featured on its Instagram. The organization asked for donations, “If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222. If another amount would work better for you, please visit our website—link in bio. There is no maximum and there is no minimum—together we will rise and together we can help.”
The United States Save With Stories Campaign was started by Jennifer Garner and Amy Adams in March. Other celebrities have participated in the campaign to raise money and awareness too. They have been featured on the Instagram and include Margot Robbie and Jimmy Fallon.
