Megan Thee Stallion Requests Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez, Who Is Serving 10-Year Sentence For Shooting Her In The Foot

On Dec. 17, musical sensation Megan Thee Stallion (born Megan Pete) requested a restraining order against Tory Lanez (born Daystar Peterson), who she alleges has continued to harass her through third parties since he was arrested for shooting her in the feet in 2020.

Peterson was convicted in 2022 on charges of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, having a loaded, unregistered gun in the car and discharging a firearm with gross negligence when he shot Pete in July 2020.

In the July 2020 trial, Pete testified that the assault happened when she left a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in Hollywood Hills, and Peterson fired at the back of her feet and shouted for her to dance.

In August 2023, he was sentenced to ten years in prison, and a judge rejected a motion from Peterson’s lawyers for a new trial, as his lawyers appealed his conviction.

On Tuesday, Pete requested the Los Angeles Superior Court judge prevent Peterson from orchestrating harassment against her through third parties. Her filing claims that Peterson recruited the blogger Milagro Gramz (born Milagro Elizabeth Cooper) to engage in a “conspirational relationship.” This resulted in Pete filing a lawsuit against Cooper in October, which accused her of “churning out falsehoods” concerning Peterson’s shooting of Pete.

Pete’s filing alleges, “Even now, while behind bars…despite being sentenced to ten years in prison for shooting Ms. Pete, Mr. Peterson continues to subject her to repeated trauma and revictimization.”

Pete’s petition asserted that Peterson’s harassment had resulted in “severe emotional distress and reputational harm,” for Pete. It read, “Mr. Peterson is fully aware of the impact of the psychological warfare he has waged against Ms. Pete, yet he continues to deputize his supporters to attack Ms. Pete’s character and integrity.”

Pete amended her complaint on Dec. 10 to include “additional factual detail from Mr. Peterson’s prison call logs which shed light on Mr. Peterson’s conspirational relationship with Ms. Cooper.”

The filing read, “In these prison calls, Mr. Peterson’s father – when he thought no one was listening – asks his son about payments to Ms. Cooper for her harassment of Ms. Pete… Instead of denying that Ms. Cooper has been paid, they question how Ms. Pete uncovered their conspiracy.”
