Megan Thee Stallion Earns Raves As Host & Musical Guest On ‘SNL’
4/5
Megan Thee Stallion (unsurprisingly) rocked both her hosting and performing duties during the October 15 episode of Saturday Night Live. The Grammy winner delivered stunning performances of three new hits, and she showed off her sharp comedy chops in several hilarious sketches.
The popular rapper jokingly introduced herself during her monologue.
“If you know me, you know I go by more than one name,” she said. “Let’s see, we got Tina Snow, the Hot Girl Coach, the a-show hottie, and if you are one of my many, many haters, I’m probably ‘Ugh, that b-tch.'”
Megan added that they “aren’t entirely wrong” because she is “simply that b-tch” — and she definitely lived up to that reputation throughout the show.
The “Hot Girl Coach” herself starred in a sketch that teased Hot Girl Hospital, “a new medical drama for our times.” During the trailer, Megan’s character does not treat actual medical conditions or save any lives, but she does offer patients her expertise in all things hot girl… and save their dignity.
The “Savage” rapper also shined in “We Got Brought,” a rap song sketch about three plus ones who feel awkward interacting with each other after their dates ditch them. Needless to say, she out-rapped SNL cast members Bowan Yang and Ego Nwodim just a bit in that one.
Megan and her dancers sported sparkly Miss America gowns for her performance of “Anxiety.” Their “Ms. Anxiety,” “Ms. Overworked” and “Ms. Insecure” sashes emphasized the important sentiment of the mental health empowerment track.
She also crushed a live mashup of two other tracks on her “Traumazine” album, “NDA” and “Plan B.”
The 27-year-old hitmaker became the forty-third artist to take on both hosting and performing for the show. Megan’s in good company with stars like Billie Eilish, The Rolling Stones and Bruno Mars.
You can stream the latest SNL episodes on NBC.com and Peacock.
