Megan Fox To Star As Poison Ivy In Upcoming ‘Gotham City Sirens’
Fox, known for her roles in recent comic book films Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, is reportedly taking steps to prepare for the role of Poison Ivy in Gotham City Sirens.
The actress has been a comic book fan for years, and has even expressed interest in playing the character before.
“If you could play any superhero, who would you choose?” Fox was asked during a Chinese press tour back in 2014.
“To play any superhero? Poison Ivy or Red Sonja, if I’m just gonna jump on the red hair thing,” she answered.
Fox has also been ordering particular comics online recently—including Harley Quinn #14, #17 and #38 from DC Comics. These specific issues feature the first appearances of the relationship between Harley and Posion Ivy.
Gotham City Sirens is set to star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Suicide Squad director David Ayer will direct the film. Ayer has hinted that the film will follow the relationship between the characters of Quinn and Ivy.
In addition, Fox appears to be having the comics sent to her address at Warner Bros. Studios, fueling speculation that she may already be in talks for the part.
However, no official confirmation has been announced from Fox or Warner Bros.
