Megan Fox and Michael Bay have set aside their differences in order to work together on Ninja Turtles, a reboot of the popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Bay posted on his website, “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”
Fox and Bay had previously worked together on the first two Transformers movies, Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. However, Fox and her character were dropped from the third Transformers film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley when Fox blasted the director in an interview with Wonderland Magazine.
“He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is,” Fox said in the 2009 interview. “So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all."
The reconciliation comes not only as a surprise reunion, but also as a confirmation that Ninja Turtles, which had undergone production halts, is back on track. Bay is a producer on the film (Jonathan Liebesman will direct), while Fox has been cast as April O’Neil, the female friend of the turtles, THR reports. Ninja Turtles will combine live-action and CG technology, with human actors portraying the turtles using motion capture. Ninja Turtles is scheduled for a May, 2014 release. —Hal Sundt
