Rocker John Mellencamp, 59, may have recently separated from his wife of 18 years, Elaine Irwin Mellencamp, but his New Year still looks promising, as he has recently been linked to Sleepless In Seattle star, Meg Ryan, 49.
The two have been spotted together shopping in New York and having coffee at Martha's Vineyard. "She usually comes in by herself or with her daughter," an observer of the couple told People. "I thought that was her husband because they seemed comfortable and familiar with each other, just like an old married couple."
Though Mellencamp only announced his split from his wife at the end of 2010, a source reveals that they were separated some time before the singer started seeing Ryan about seven weeks ago.
