Meek Mill Defends B. Simone After Book Plagiarism Controversy

B. Simone has put out a video addressing plagiarism accusations against her new book after Meek Mill defended her in a series of tweets on Sunday.

The internet personality released her book Baby Girl: Manifest the Life You Want last week, and several small content creators and bloggers called her out on Twitter for stealing significant portions of her book from them.

Mill then came to her defense tweeting, “B Simone canceled because she finnesed a book and made her way from the bottom lol what major companies y’all cancel for ripping our culture off? finding ways to display hate towards our own when they start doing good is showing amongst us a lot!”

He went on to tweet about his own experience creating a book, Tony Story, “I didn’t write tony story book I made the story but I don’t even remember who wrote it …. I think I let a hitta from my hood write it who was tryna get out the streets … if he would of stole a few pages I wouldn’t of known lol.”

On Monday, Simone put out a video on Instagram explaining the situation, and taking “full accountability” for the plagiarism, even though she said she did not know the team she hired to write the book had stolen content. She said that this is a legal issue now, so she can only touch on the topic, but wanted to give an explanation to her fans.

“I had a vision to create a book for young women to change their mindset and have them manifest because that is how I feel I became successful in life,” Simone said in the almost three minute long video. “Me and my team outsourced. We hired a team that we trusted. That we thought could bring my vision to life and they did a lot of things without my knowledge.”

“Once again, I take full accountability, even though I did not know because why? Because I am the face of the brand. I am the brand. I am the coach. Even if the player f***s up I’m the coach,” she continued.

“I have reached out directly to every content creator that was disadvantaged an I am doing everything I can to fix this issue and make everyone whole,” she wrote in the lengthy caption. “Even though this was not intentional, I am still so very sorry to the content creators and i understand their frustration 100%.”
