Robert Rihmeek Williams, also known as, Meek Mill, will most likely be freed sooner than later. The rapper is currently serving a two-to-four year sentence for violating his probation.
The conviction that resulted in his conviction is in question. Officer Reginald Graham, who arrested him, has been named by peers as a member of a corrupt narcotics unit that has a history of framing people to gain convictions. The officer is also deemed “unfit” by Philadelphia’s District Attorney’s office to testify on cases.
Questions are being raised about if Williams was involved with the drug transaction that gave Graham a warrant to raid his house and if Williams pointed his gun at Graham during the raid. According to Williams’s family, he was at the courthouse at the time Graham said he saw Williams complete a transaction due to a tip from a confidential informant.
A test was never run on the alleged cocaine Graham may or may not have taken from Williams.

In Williams’s lawyers appeals, there are sworn affidavits from retried officers Jerold Gibson and Jeffery Walker claiming Graham lied “both in general and specifically in Petitioner’s case.”
Even though both officers also have credibility concerns, a motion on Wednesday stated the officers statements have “new and important information relating to the integrity of the original conviction.”
Williams’s case is inspiring others incarcerated by Graham to have their sentences reviewed.
