Olympic gymnast and recipient of both gold and silver medals at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games — for the team event and the individual vault, respectively — McKayla Maroney, 16, might be about to live out another one of her dreams by stepping in front of the camera to guest-star in a role on the CW's Hart of Dixie. The show is a small-town medical series about big-city doc Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), who finds herself stuck practicing her craft in a small Texan town.

The CW has offered Maroney a bit in Hart of Dixie's second season as Tonya, best friend to recurring character Rose, played by McKaley Miller, reports Entertainment Weekly. The CW, which is co-owned by CBS and Warner Bros., seems serious about locking down the schedules of Olympic gold medalists for guest stints on its series. The network has also signed Olympic swimmer and multiple medalist Ryan Lochte, 28, for a guest role on 90210, as well as fellow Maroney "Fab Five" gymnast Gabby Douglas, 16, who won the gold medal in the all-around for Team USA, and will now appear in The Vampire Diaries.

Acting has always been a dream of Maroney's, in addition to being a famous gymnast. "After gymnastics I know that I want to be an actress," she told Uinterview exclusively. "That sort of thing seems really fun to me."

Hart of Dixie will return to the CW on October 2. It is not yet clear in which episode Maroney will appear.
