McDonald’s Customer Upset Over Order Who Killed Man Attempting To Defuse Dispute Appears In Court To Face Murder Charge

In a McDonald’s in Houston, a lawyer was fatally shot by an enraged customer after he attempted to calm the man down in a dispute over his order.

The incident unfolded on May 4 at the McDonald’s on West Interstate Highway 10 service road.

The victim, 46-year-old attorney Jeffrey Limmer, intervened when the disgruntled customer demanded a refund from a McDonald’s employee. Limmer, known to family and friends for his calm demeanor and desire to defuse tense situations, hoped to resolve the issue peacefully. However, the angry customer redirected his anger toward Limmer and sparked an argument between the two.

As tensions escalated, the altercation spilled into the parking lot, where Limmer attempted to stand his ground. Limmer pushed the man to the ground, which prompted the customer to retrieve a firearm from his vehicle and shoot Limmer before fleeing the scene in a blue Ford pickup truck. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, Limmer was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, Anthony Martin Landry, who was free on a bond for an assault at the time, claimed self-defense to the charge of murdering Limmer in a Houston court.

Limmer’s sister, Jennifer Thomas, described her brother as compassionate and consistently advocated for peace and fairness. She told ABC-13, “He loved fiercely his family and friends… always laughing, making jokes, and just loving life.”

Thomas continued, “Knowing Jeff, he’s the one who always says, ‘Calm down. It’s not that big of a deal,’ and divert the situation… He’s always wanted to fight for the little guy and do the right thing.” She further asserted her brother was a “good Samaritan” who was “trying to do the right thing by not letting those employees at McDonald’s go through that.”
