Matt Damon Supports Ben Affleck’s Giant Back Tattoo

Matt Damon was playing the supportive best friend to Ben Affleck when it came to his back tattoo in an interview with Trevor Noah on The Daily Show.

After his divorce to Jennifer Garner, Affleck debuted a new tattoo of a phoenix rising from the ashes on his back. At the time, Affleck claimed the tattoo as “fake” but new photos of him in Hawaii proved that was false.

Damon told Noah, “It’s not one man’s job to tell another man what he can do to his back.” That was a much kinder response than what his exes Jennifer Lopez and Garner said.

Lopez called the tattoo “awful” and Garner simply said “bless his heart.”

Even though he was suppressing his laughter, Damon said he still supports Affleck. “I support him in all of his… artistic expression,” said Damon. “That’s a good friend answer, actually,” said Noah.
