Marvel debuted the first teaser for new series Jessica Jones, the next show featured in their Netflix original series slate, on Thursday.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones stars Krysten Ritter (Big Eyes, Veronica Mars) in the lead role as Jessica Jones, with Doctor Who’s David Tennant as the villain Kilgrave and Mike Colter (The Good Wife) as Luke Cage.
The plot centers around Jones, a former superhero, who opens her own detective agency after an end to her days of fighting bad guys and finds herself on cases involving people with “extraordinary abilities.”
Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg told EW in July that the series plans to go even further in storytelling.
“That’s the beauty of working with Netflix,” Rosenberg said. “It’s 13 [episodes]. There’s no pilot and then getting feedback, reaction and ratings. You’re in this bubble. So, what’s the story you want to tell?”
Set to the song “Thousand Eyes” by Of Monsters and Men, the new teaser doesn’t give away much, opening with the classic Marvel logo of flashing comics and highlighting brief colorful images of Jones’ life.
“It’s time the world knew her name,” the trailer proclaims.
All episodes of Jessica Jones are set to premiere Nov. 20 on Netflix.
