Martina Hingis Accused Of Assaulting Estranged Husband Thibault Hutin

Martina Hingis, the former tennis champion, has along with her mother Melanie Molitor, been accused of assaulting her estranged husband Thibault Hutin.

“They wanted to kill me. I’m shocked! I never thought it would go so far,” Hutin told a Swiss newspaper.

Hutin, 26, and Hingis, 32, were married in 2010 and had a very public falling out over the summer when Hutin announced that Hingis had caused their separation with her constant infidelity. Now, Hutin is claiming that he was approached by Hingis, her mother and her mother’s boyfriend, who tried to beat him and rob him.

“On Monday evening, I was in our shared apartment when the doorbell rang. In the course of a dispute to Martina and her mother Melanie Molitor pounced on me, beat me and scratched. My upbringing forbids me to beat women,” Hutin said

Hutin, an equestrian jumper, claims he was attacked in the apartment he shared with Hingis in Switzerland, that Hingis and her mother had “beaten and scratched” him, and that the boyfriend hit him on the head with a DVD player. He also claims Hingis stole his credit cards and passport.

Swiss police confirmed that Hutin filed a complaint detailing conflicts that occurred in the apartment, but, other than the location of the alleged scuffle, no details were confirmed.

Hutin says the fear caused by the attack led him to leave the apartment and check into a hotel during the divorce proceedings. He plans on moving to his native France as soon as possible.

“Martina has a very personal conception of morality. She has always been like that; I think she has always been unfaithful to her boyfriends,” Hutin said when talking about his wife’s infidelity over the summer.

Hingis reportedly has a history of questionable behavior in the tennis world. After earning the title of number one women’s singles player in the late 1990s, she was forced into retirement due to an injury only to return to the sport in 2006.

Her second career in the world of professional tennis barely lasted one year: she left tennis in 2007 when she failed a drug test. Though she still works as a tennis coach and was inducted into the Tennis Hall of Fame, Hingis has been banned from playing professionally.
