Mark Salling To Surrender In Child Porn Case, Leaves Bank With $100,000 Check Ahead Of Hearing

Mark Salling was spotted taking out $100,000 from a Chase bank in Los Angeles, Calif., Thursday ahead of his arraignment for child pornography charges.

Salling, 33, was carrying a $100,000 check made payable to the Clerk of the U.S. District Court while exiting his bank yesterday. It’s possible that the check is for a bail sum that could have been predetermined in a plea deal, according to TMZ.

Salling, who is best known for playing Noah “Puck” Puckerman on Fox musical dramedy series Glee, was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on charges of receiving and possessing child pornography, which was found on his laptop computer and on a flash memory drive. He is being arraigned on those charges Friday and is expected to surrender.

If convicted, Salling will face a minimum sentence of five years in federal prison for receiving child pornography and a statuary maximum of 20 years in federal prison. Possessing child pornography also carries a 20-year maximum sentence.

As a result of his indictment on the child pornography charges, Salling was fired from his upcoming miniseries Gods and Secrets.

“He has been cut from the miniseries,” executive producer Adi Shankar wrote in a statement. “I will personally be paying for the reshoots, and I hope that Mark finds inner peace.”

Salling has not commented on his legal situation.
