Glee actor Mark Salling has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography.
Salling, 33, who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman on the hit musical show, entered his plea in downtown Los Angeles on Monday. His sentencing is scheduled for March 7. The actor was arrested in December 2015 after the Los Angeles Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant in his home and found evidence of his crime.
The warrant found more than 50,000 images of child porn on the actor’s computer and flash drive. Salling reached an agreement with prosecutors in October, at which time he admitted to possessing images of prepubescent children.
In the plea deal, the prosecutors and Salling agreed to ask a judge for a sentence of four to seven years in prison, and the actor will also be required to register as a sex offender and pay restitution.
In January 2013, Salling was sued for sexual battery against his ex-girlfriend Roxanne Gorzela, who claimed the actor had forced her to have sex without a condom, despite her pleas to use one. He denied the allegation and countersued for defamation of character. That case was settled in March 2015, and Salling was ordered by a trial judge to pay Gorzela $2.7 million.
Shortly after, in an interview with E!, Salling claimed the lawsuit was “fraudulent” and that he would still defend himself “vigorously.”
“I personally have a relationship with Jesus Christ and I count on that myself,” he said at the time.
