In a heartwarming display of family bonding, actress Mariska Hargitay, best known for her role as NYPD detective Olivia Benson on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, was spotted enjoying a special outing with her son, August Hermann, during the 2023 U.S. Open.

The 59-year-old star and her 17-year-old son were seen relishing in all the high-intensity action from their court-side seats at the prestigious sporting event, before Mariska’s husband, Peter Hermann, 56, could join them in the stands.

Hargitay and August have made the U.S. Open together a mother-son ritual, attending the event together for the past three years. This year’s match was the quarter-final match between Frances Tiafoe and opponent Ben Shelton at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York.

As the match progressed, Peter Hermann eventually made his way to his reserved seat, sitting alongside his wife of over 19 years and his son.

In a thrilling turn of events, Shelton emerged victorious over Tiafoe in four sets. Securing a spot in the semi-finals, Shelton is set to face off against the legendary 23-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic.
