Mario Götze made history on Sunday when he became the first sub to make a winning goal in a Word Cup final, and was promptly congratulated by his girlfriend Ann-Kathrin Brömmel.
Brömmel, a lingerie model, was standing by in Brazil Sunday, July 13, as Götze scored the winning goal for Germany in overtime against Argentina.
While Götze, 22, has become a national hero, Brömmel, 24, has also shot to fame as the girl who kissed Götze in front of the millions of World Cup viewers. The young couple was spotted celebrating on the soccer field with Götze’s teammates and their families immediately following German’s World Cup win. Later, Brömmel attended Germany’s victory party, where Götze reportedly stayed close to his lady love as he posed for pictures with Rihanna.
Brömmel and Götze first went public with their romance in 2012 after photos of the two vacationing together were leaked to the press. Back then, Brömmel was best known as a contestant on Germany’s Next Top Model – she made it into the top 50.
Brömmel also has a passion for music, but admits that it’s more of a hobby than career path. She has released a few pop songs under the stage name ‘Trina B.’
“I sing because I enjoy it. And not because I have a voice like Beyoncé,” she said in an interview with GQ.
When she’s not recording music, Brömmel works as an aspiring model.
Brömmel presumably returned home to Germany with her boyfriend, Gotze, who tweeted from the German team’s homecoming parade.
