Marilyn Manson was severely injured during a concert in New York on Saturday night when a stage prop fell on him.

Marilyn Manson Concert Injury News

The 48-year-old hard rock singer was halfway through a performance of his band’s famous cover of the Eurythmics hit “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These),” when he neared a stage backdrop that was surrounded by two huge fake pistols.

Manson started climbing the prop, but it collapsed onto him. The band continued playing for several seconds before it became clear Manson couldn’t get up.

The show was eventually cancelled and Manson was transported to a nearby hospital.

The singer’s reps confirmed in a statement released to the media that the singer was being treated in a New York City hospital. “Manson suffered an injury towards the end of an incredible NYC show,” the statement reads. “He is being treated at a local hospital.”

The rock star is touring to promote his band’s new album, which goes on sale next week. The “Heaven Upside Down” tour — which began this weekend in Maryland — is scheduled to continue through the end of October.

According to BBC News, Manson is recovering from the accident at home.
