Mariah Carey Reluctant To Talk About Split From Fiance James Packer

Weeks after it was reported that the singer and her fiance, billionaire businessman James Packer, ended their engagement, Mariah Carey talked about the split on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Carey seemed reluctant to talk about her past relationship. She and DeGeneres mostly discussed Carey’s new E! reality show, Mariah’s World.

When DeGeneres asked about how she’s doing mentally, Carey said, “I think I’m doing well. Everything happens for a reason. Things are the way they are.”

“It’s kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment. So I’m just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous, and I’m here…”

DeGeneres let her move on.

Carey and Packer began dating in July 2015 and were engaged in January 2016 before splitting in October.
