Mariah Carey was seen wearing the $10 million engagement ring given to her by ex-fiance James Packer while attending a party with current boyfriend Bryan Tanaka.
The couple were engaged to be married a year ago, but split up in Oct. 2016. They only dated for a year and a half before the Australian businessman proposed. Their split hasn’t stopped the singer from wearing the dazzling piece of jewelry. Carey wore the ring as an accessory at a fashion party honoring Karl Lagerfeld. She famously refused to give it back to Packer after their split.
The move came after Packer admitted that he was “at a low point” in his life when he dated Carey. Last week the 50-year-old opened up for the first time about his relationship and breakup with the diva. “I was at a low point in my personal life. Documenting the negotiations with my sister was taking longer than expected,” he said. “She was kind, exciting and fun. Mariah is a woman of substance. But it was a mistake for her and a mistake for me.”
In the same interview, Packer explained that he was $5 million in debt when he met Carey, and that his biggest regret in life was divorcing his ex-wife Erica Baxter. “It is my biggest regret that I let my marriage to Erica fail,” he said. “It is what it is and she is doing an incredible job with the kids and we are in a great place.”
Carey was reportedly devastated when Packer ended the relationship suddenly. She blamed Packer’s involvement with Scientology for the split, though Packer’s camp has denied these allegations.
However, many of Carey’s fans were quick to stick up for the artist with remarks…
