As Christmas draws closer and closer, President Joe Biden invited “All I Want For Christmas Is You” singer Mariah Carey to the White House.
In a video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, Biden greeted Carey and her twin children into the White House.
The video shows Biden greeting Carey and her kids, before Biden plays the song “All I Want For Christmas is You” by Carey on his phone.
The hit song then plays over Carey and her kids touring the White House full of Christmas decorations. Carey then hangs an ornament on the tree saying, “it’s perfect.”
Carey was in the area for a Biden visit after she performed in Baltimore on December 15. She took to Instagram to describe her visit.
“Last week I had the pleasure of meeting President Biden & Vice President Harris at the White House to ring in the holiday season! While there, we got to see all the festive decor and spread some cheer!” Carey captioned the post.
Carey’s song All I Want For Christmas Is You is considered a modern Christmas classic by many.
Selling 16 million copies worldwide, her song was selected by the Library of Congress in 2023 and has led her to have the nickname the “Queen of Christmas.”
Carey was recently sued for copyright infringement over the song.
