Mariah Carey has cleared her schedule in order to contribute to a star-studded Haiti charity single being organized by Simon Cowell and British newspaper The Sun. Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue and James Blunt are among the other artists confirmed to participate in the cover of R.E.M.’s "Everybody Hurts" while many others are looking to hoping to join. Even Gordon Brown, Britain’s embattled prime minister, has offered his support to the single by agreeing to waive VAT taxes. All proceeds will go to The Sun’s Helping Haiti fund and the official Disasters Emergency Committee appeal. Cowell is working quickly to get the song recorded, but no word yet on when the group will convene. –MEGHAN GROSSO
